How to Use Fearless Trainers

How To Use Fearless Trainers Like a Potty Pro (Even If You’re New to This)

Ready to start potty training, but not sure where to begin? We’ve got you.

Here’s your quick guide to using Fearless Trainers—our bestselling waterproof potty training underwear—and making the most of every potty victory (and setback!).

Step 1:

Get the Right Fit

Potty training success starts with comfort. Make sure your Fearless Trainers fit nicely around the legs and waist. If they’re too loose, leaks are more likely. Too tight? Your kiddo might refuse to wear them.

💡 Pro Tip: Measure your child’s waist and thighs with a soft tape measure before ordering.

Step 2:

Ditch the Diapers (During the Day)

Introduce them to your child as training pants and explain that these are the new underwear to use, and that they won't act like a diaper.

When the day of no-more-diapers arrives, put your child on the toilet as soon as they wake up and catch the morning pee. This starts you off with success!

Then put the training pants on them.

Your child WILL USE THEM AS A DIAPER out of curiosity. The human nature is to test things, but they will feel a heightened sensation of wetness. If you are not using a Tiny Liner, they may be get squishy and wet around the legs. This is GREAT for the learning experience - and they’ll start building body awareness because they’ll actually feel wet when they pee.

*Handling Poop

To change a poop accident - from a standing position, grab the back of the trainer in the seat area and pull it away from the child, then pull the trainer down and off.

Step 3:

Use the Insert When You Need It

Each pair comes with a built-in pad, but if your child is still having full-blown accidents, we recommend adding a Tiny Liner. It slips right into the pocket and adds extra absorbency without bulk.

Use Tiny Liners

  • At the start of potty training, if you have a sensitive kiddo

  • During Naps

  • When out and about or traveling (care rides, friends house, etc.)

  • At daycares or preschools, until directed by your caretaker to reduce the use.
  • When your child or you gets sick and you need a break

Step 4:

Expect Setbacks (They’re Normal)

Fearless Trainers aren’t magic. They’re a tool, and potty training is a process. Accidents are part of that. Stay calm, stay positive, and celebrate the tries, not just the wins.

Fearless Trainers make it safe to potty train by making the child feel wet while reducing the mess and hassle or accidents.

Step 5:

Wash, Rinse, Repeat

Cleaning is easy:

  1. Cold rinse if there’s poop.

  2. Wash warm with detergent.

  3. Tumble dry low or air dry.

You can toss them in with a load of towels or jeans to save water and time.

A Quick Note on Nighttime:

Fearless Trainers are daytime-only. If you’re tackling bedwetting too, check out our Brain Trainers, which are built for overnight protection and sensory feedback while your child sleeps.
